You don’t need to explore the world strutting around in just about anything you stuffed in your bag. Here’s how you can ace the stylish traveller look without compromising on comfort.

Jet-setting the globe is on your life’s agenda. While fulfilling this goal is important, so is doing it in style. We bring you four ways to wear your jet-setting attitude on your sleeve (literally).

The best way to stay stylish without compromising on comfort while you travel is to go the shirt route. Right from the quintessential blue-jeans-white-shirt to the more funky printed shirts, there are so many options to explore. Twill, Madras checks and chambray shirts are all comfortable and stylish options, as are Polos. Tip: Go for the denim-on-denim look or add a scarf or casual jacket for extra spunk.

Sweaters are a must if you’re travelling to a country with a colder climate. They also help battle those cold airplane blues. Wear one in a pastel shade with elbow patches-these add a cool, relaxed vibe to the look. You can also go for less heavy merino sweaters in colours like teal and yellow. If the chill in the air is too much to take, slip into a lambswool sweater or cardigan with a cable-knit texture. Pair these with chinos or jeans and loafers. Tip: Go the extra mile, look into the details: wear a checked shirt (say, in white and pink) and team it with a buttoned-up sweater (in navy blue) on a pair of beige chinos or blue/black jeans.

Linen makes the cut purely because this fabric feels like a dream and looks great too, making it perfect for a beach party or a relaxed resort vacation. You can wear a linen shirt on a pair of trousers or jeans. Linen-on-linen works as well. It’s a versatile fabric: don’t be afraid to explore different colours, patterns and prints! This fabric is all about freshness and breathability, so opt for floral, nautical or animal prints on neutral linen tones and bright colours like mint green, orange or light pink.

T-shirts are quintessential to vacations, be it a hiking adventure trip or a relaxing beach vacation. Opt for simple stripes, earthy colours or basic greys that you can pair with most of your bottom wear to ensure that you’re travelling light. If you’re off to a hill station or a destination where the weather is unpredictable or tends to get chilly at times, a round-neck full-sleeved T-shirt is your best bet.
